Question about cleaning cast iron.

Tried cooking breakfast over a fire for the first time during a camping trip a few ago and it went horribly horrible. First off couldn't get a good fire going due to wet wood but that's not what this post is about. Burnt the eggs on the cast iron and I cannot get them off for the love of all things holy. How do you accomplish this? Thanks!
