Question/opinions request about low kicks
I have a doubt for a while regarding low kicks. I was taught to kick with mi shin parallel to the floor and to put all my hips into the movement (similar to the way Bas Rutten tells who to do it: https://youtu.be/7X_DUzxk5os?t=191 & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgrHiWlpRGc or this beautiful example by Alves: http://www.scifighting.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Alves-blasts-Koscheck-with-a-leg-kick-Zuffa.jpg [static image] http://theselfdefenceexpert.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/low-kick-gif-alves.gif [gif]). I also know that diagonal kicks are a little bit faster but the angle makes you prone to a defense that can hurt you, for example the infamous end to Silva vs Weidman II (I´m not going to post that image, I assume everyone here knows what I'm talking about). But I´ve noticed how great fighters sometimes tend to do the other way. Aldo ( http://www.mmanations.com/aldolk.jpg or https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/2XXXTPcW0lKK_QXpPH_hf7syJ00=/0x0:1920x1280/1200x800/filters:focal(955x449:1261x755)/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/55093073/408_Jose_Aldo_vs_Max_Holloway.0.jpg ) or Anderson. Few days ago I watch this video https://www.facebook.com/MadFight24/videos/1912848452287615/?hc_ref=PAGES_TIMELINE , where Artur Kyshenko, K-1 champ, embraces the diagonal kind. I´ve tried to kick like that and I really prefer the 'Bas Rutten style'. How do you low kick and why? Whats your opinion about the other kind of low kicks? (Sorry, it's my first post and english is not my native tongue).
