Home Gold not working?

My boyfriend has his home Xbox set to mine so I can use his owned games. I have full access to them on my profile but I can't use online multiplayer anymore or download any of the games for gold (unless he's done it already). It also prompts me to buy gold on the homepage.

Any way to fix this or has it been changed?
