Can I paint my MacBook?

I know it sounds crazy, but I recently bought a skin from dbrand (which I can highly recommend) but the problem is I am missing less then a mm to make it fit perfectly.

So therefore I ask you: Can I paint last bit of macbook with black nail polish? Will it stick? Will I be able to remove it again without removing the original gold color?
