Any research coordinators here? What's the job like?

I graduated recently with my MPH and had an interview recently for a research coordinator for a few ongoing clinical trials at a local university. The interview didn't go so well - I don't think I had the experience required for all the database management and maintenance and such, and I wasn't particularly interested in the research topics.

But I wanted to know what sort of experience you had before you started and if it helped with your current responsibilities, and how much you learned on the job.
