Best way to store some IOTA?

Hi, I've read a lot about the Wallet and that it's not the most user friendly out there. Also it has gone through another iteration requiring users to transfer from old wallets to these new ones if I'm correct?

So that seems a bit risky if I want to store IOTA for a long time. What's in your opinion the best way to store IOTA safely, and be able to easily recover it at any point in the future?

Is it indeed the official wallet app?
