Girl[25] in an LDR and boyfriend[28] is afraid of commitment. Am I getting myself in trouble with this

I, F[25] am in a ldr with my boyfriend M[28] for about an year now. We traveled to see other at least once in a quarter and all those weeks we spent together are just beyond any possible earthly pleasures. I am a person who likes to have clarity in a relationship and a direction. He is afraid of commitment and has broken up with at least 5 women before me. He loves me and I do love him more than I could bear! But he recently confessed that he is afraid of commitments and it made me think that I might be getting myself in to a deep shit hole if I am the only one expecting a future out of this relationship. Should I try and see where this goes or break up with him? I am torn and kills me to even think about break up. I really need your advice...please help me out. Tl;dr : LDR boyfriend is commitment phobic. Need suggestions/advice
