Do I need a base gasket?

Fist time caller, long time listener...great subreddit. I got a stock 78 Moby 50v a couple months ago.

I installed a 70cc Airsal kit...buut I used Red High Temp Gasket Maker goo instead of a base gasket.
The head gasket is the one that came with the kit, but I'm afraid using liquid gasket maker is gonna bite me in the butt later on. Bueno? Or No Bueno?
Do I need to take it apart again and put a real gasket?
