[speculation] Are fire/ice types going to get a boost from the gym rework?

As Pokebattler recently mentioned, Lapras and Arcanine could stand to gain a lot if stat/CP calculations change. Furthermore, Lapras is much more common than usual during the Solstice event: it's a rare rather than very/ultra rare and is the only rare event spawn.

Could Niantic be preparing players for a buff to Lapras as gym defender, or a buff to fire-types on offense? I guess we'll know soon enough.
