Did you know: Only three people can claim to have seen the Comey memo? Timeline of the Comey Memo!

Thanks to u/revolution_123 for the conversation that led me to post this.

If anyone can expand this timeline with an article, please post one!

#MAY 16

The New York Times reports that a memo written by James Comey had been leaked to them, outlining Trump's attempt to influence the Russia collusion investigation, which, as we all know, has turned up not a hair of the God Emperor's glorious golden mane on even a single ounce of incriminating evidence. To me, the key sentence in this report is:

The New York Times has not viewed a copy of the memo, which is unclassified, but one of Mr. Comey’s associates read parts of it to a Times reporter.

#MAY 25

On this day, quite a few news outlets reported on the FBI refusing to give Comey's memo to Congress, creating the impression that they do, in fact possess a copy.

Congress calls on Comey to testify, which happens on

#JUNE 8

On June the 8th, in front of Congress, when asked to hand over his memo that supposedly incriminated Donald Trump, Comey tells everyone that he no longer possesses his copy of the memo. He disposed of it. For some mysterious reason. When pressed by Senator Cotton, Comey said he would encourage his friend from Columbia (the person he gave the memo to so it could be leaked) to release the memo.

Subsequently, the letter linked above was sent to his friend at Columbia. This letter instructs one Professor Daniel Richman, a law professor at Columbia University, to hand over the memo on June 9th. Five days later. He complies. Sort of.

#JUNE 13

Professor Richman, instead of handing over his copy to Congress, as instructed, decides, four days late, to turn his copy over to the FBI. The FBI that, as has already been noted, refused to hand over their copy of the memo to Congress.

There are two key points I want to draw your attention to, in the last few sentences of this particular news story.

Comey himself said he turned over his copies to Mueller, but he said he'd be comfortable if Mueller or Richman shared them with Congress.

So far, the memos have been requested by the House and Senate intelligence committees, the Senate Judiciary Committee and the House Oversight Committee.

Now, this first sentence is key, because I cannot find any mention of Comey having handed over his copy of the memos to Mueller. Only his own sworn testimony in front of Congress that he destroyed his copy. If anyone can plug in this hole, that would be welcome, as all the other steps in this story have been quite well documented by various sources on both sides.

On to the second, which shows just how many times Congress has, in total, requested this memo. Four separate committees, in both the House and Senate, have demanded this document. And not a single Congressperson has seen it. Nor has a single reporter. In point of fact, only three people can alledgedly be confirmed to have ever actually seen Comey's little journal entries. James Comey, Daniel Richman, and Robert Mueller.

#TLDR: Thus far, only three people can even claim to have seen Comey's memo. Every time Congress has asked for a copy, they have been stonewalled. The FBI has refused to give Congress a copy since May 25th. Comey conveniently destroyed his copy at some point before his testimony to Congress. Richman claims he gave his copy to the FBI, even after Congress specifically directed him to bring it to them.
