Overwhelmed with the possibilities
Hi, I lift weights but really hate the foods that i eat so that i can maintain muscle and low fat. All i eat is chicken, black beans, oats, milk, canned tuna, chia seeds, and bananas.
I dislike eggs too much to make them ever (would probably like them if i could cook a balanced intelligent meal)
I'm curious, how can i include more variety into my diet without eating everything solo, and make it good? What i mean is i never combine food (other than oats peanut butter milk and chia seeds lol..), ill usually eat it in bulk as a meal. So if i eat kale, im just eating kale, if chicken its chicken alone.
The most complex thing ive ever cooked was : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcj80v67YJ4
It just seems overwhelming and tough. I was watching chef ramsay videos for ideas, i like them, but i don't trust that i have utensils that will allow me to properly do things. I just have a cheap stove and oven, is that enough?
I could possibly start out just by making fresh bread every day, and make my own noodles too. But for proteins i struggle the most, walmart bought chicken really sucks, and so do the steaks that i get from there (or is it my technique and stove?)
Sorry this isn't specific, but maybe you can see my issue Low quality food Low quality skills Zero ideas Low quality equipment (i think?)
I'm looking for: A way to effectively know what foods pair well with each other, kind of like a color wheel of taste, and i'm looking for the theory behind it all.
Maybe i should goto school for this sort of thing?
Thanks, and sorry lol.
