Netero's strength is the opposite of Gon-san's?

(for reference: I've only seen the 2011 anime but have read plenty about 99 and the manga)

Gon's strength was, essentially, his future self's strength, borrowed for use immediately and to be paid out for the rest of his life starting a couple hours from then.

When Netero did his 10,000 prayer-punches a day, did the sheer dedication and willpower involved create its own Nen condition-style effect?

Just an interesting thought, since it would imply that one can "pre-pay" for Nen power, albeit trying to do so deliberately would likely be vastly less effective - Netero did it with no expectation he would be paid back - it would have represented a much stronger dedication and will that he did so on a principle rather than for any obvious gain.

Was this just so obvious (or spelled out explicitly at some point) to everyone that no one thought it worth mentioning, or am I on to something here, or am I just silly?
