I was told I have low risk HPV - unanswered questions.
I'm 21 almost 22 and had an abnormal Pap smear. It was sent out for DNA sequencing and it came back as low risk HPV. I don't have warts or symptoms. I was informed this was a "good" strain to have not cancer forming nor will it cause warts. I don't need to be rechecked again for a year, it will not cause any symptoms and 90% chance of my body clearing it on its own. I was told begin taking multivitamins. I was also assured this was no huge deal or urgent matter.
I was also tested for all other STDs I'm clean however I'm flat out disgusted I have HPV. I know who I got it from (only person who I haven't used condoms with) & things are getting pretty serious with us. I informed him and he's pretty upset with himself and extremely sorry and I'm not holding anything against him.
Questions: I looked online and people say HPV is a "forever" thing. However I was told my body will clear it, does it stay dormant in my body afterwards and can flare up?
I was also told use condoms unless it's serious (I do). Since we both have HPV is a condom still needed for health reasons? I'm on the pill.
