Kevinm349’s Pokemon Red Nuzlocke: Part 1
What’s up everyone? So, I just started a new Pokemon Red Nuzlocke today and decided to share my current story line.
First, Da Rules…I’m playing Standard Nuzlocke rules including the Multiple Floors Clause and No Legendaries Clause. Any Pokemon that faint will be released. I must nickname a Pokemon to use them. If I forget to, then they can be deposited into the PC for nicknaming later but cannot be used. I plan on updating every couple of days at least. Onto the story!
I started my journey in the town of Pallet, where I was yelled at by an old man known as Professor Oak. He snuck me into his lab and gave me and his grandson a Pokemon. (For this, I let my daughter pick a random starter.) We got Squirtle! I decided to nickname him Bossatron (kudos to the kids again.) Shortly after meeting Bossatron, John, who really wants me to smell him later, challenged me to our first ever Pokemon battle. He chose Bulbasaur. Bossatron rushed into battle with a flurry of Tail Whips. With Bulbasaur’s defense weakened, they slugged it out in a battle of wills. Bossatron inched ahead with a critical hit, and knocked out Bulbasaur!
After resting up a bit, we decided to hit Viridian City to stock up on Poke balls. But as soon as we entered the shop, the clerk shoved a package into our arms and we went from Pokemon trainer to errand boy. Back to Oak’s Lab! Along the way, Bossatron and I battled an endless army of Rattata and Pidgey. Bossatron grew in strength, and eventually learned Bubble!
Once we arrived at Oak’s Lab, we dropped off the package and met up with John. While we were both there, Professor Oak forced his Pokedex on us, and sent us on another errand: to catch all 151 Pokemon! Unable to say no (at any point in this game), we decided to head off in search of more Pokemon to capture. We hit up Route 1, and our first Pokemon we caught was Pidgey. We nicknamed him Norman, because Wynaut. Norman and Bossatron grew in power as we slay countless birds and rats along the way. We happened to come across Route 22, where we caught a Spearow. However, we did not nickname this one and decided to store it in our box pc. It was here that we met our dear friend John again…
And went to battle! He started off with a Pidgey of his own, so I started the battle with Bossatron. We gained the upper hand with a couple of Tail Whips but Pidgey’s Sand-Attack put us at a disadvantage. With Norman already weak from training, Bossatron was left to slug it out. A critical hit from its Bubble attack put Pidgey down finally, then it was onto Bulbasaur. Bossatron was at a type disadvantage, but stayed in long enough to lower Bulbasaur’s defenses. Then it was Norman’s turn. A few Sand-Attack’s put Norman in position to take down Bulbasaur, and we told John to smell us later!
After resting up at the Viridian Poke center, we marched onward to Viridian Forest. On the way, we caught a Rattata, and promptly nicknamed it Ratallouie. While inside of the forest, we also added a Weedle (Demolition) to our team! With 4 Pokemon on our roster, we have plenty of training to do before we arrive at Pewter City to take on the Gym Leader, Brock.
