Growth containers

I know this is probably an often asked questions, but I honestly don't have much time to research it at the moment before the offer expires.

A pet shop close by is having a closing sale that is ending soon. They have tons of aquariums and whatever the glass containers rodents and lizards live in are called, including the light sources used. For some reason I have gotten the impression those are ideal growing containers for mushrooms. I've had great interest in growing my own for many years, but this is the first time I think I have an opportunity to get a head start on some of the equipment I need.

Should I go and buy glass containers early tomorrow? What about light sources. Are there any overlap from the ones that are used for those kinds of pets?
