Is "real" motion a detriment to VR "fun!"
Just a r/showerthought....
I love VR, and I most look forward to games that use move like controls for more immersive feel.
However, part of the fun of video games is the fact they "easily" make you feel like a super hero. You press a button and you automagically swing a sword with perfect skill and accuracy. You move a stick, and you lock onto a target with no "shakes" or physical skill needed to hold that target....
The VR games that use natural motion, actually require you to exert effort and learn some skill... Suddenly, blocking a sword isn't pressing a button at the right time, but actually being able to lift your arm quickly... striking an opponent will require real timed and place swings.... Shooting a far off target really requires you to sight, and hold your hand and body steady to take the shot....
The idea of all this stuff is what excites me about VR.... but perhaps it's what puts others off...? The lazy guy on the couch that has figured out how to have nimble fingers, no longer feels like an OP god, and has to stand up and exert effort, and learn new skills to get good...
So I was wondering... is this what might turn off some of the haters to VR... If you don't invest time to learn, you won't be good, and some may want an idle experience...
Anyway, just a thought and curious of other's reactions...
