Thoughts on DIY HMD

So I've been kicking this around for a bit, but haven't had the balls to thow 50$ at it.

Raspi LCD

Plus 3.2" LCD Viewfinder Extender/Mangifier

They have an 800x480 4" monitor out there for 50$, but there's not a viewfinder extender compatible with 4" or 5:3 aspect ratio. You could maybe put a spacer on the extender, but that would make the drive-in theater feeling even worse.

Still, you could display a camera feed on 320x240, or minimap, or some other widget as an exteral monitor, and keep a battle monitor on the deck itself. Also, terminals look just fine on 240p.
