Property Lines

I am looking for advice regarding my property and getting defined property lines drawn. I reached out to a surveyor and he gave me a ballpark of roughly $900-$1,100 to have someone come out and give me property line markings.

I want to have my driveway widened and want to be sure I do not go onto my neighbor’s property with the extension. I have a basic plot plan that was done as part of my mortgage, but an unable to mark out the left side of the property on my own. I am able to mark out the right side.

So is a surveyor the only way to go to get defined property lines?
