Seeking advice for paying for college...
To make a long story short, I'm 19 and graduated high school a year ago and couldn't afford to go to college afterwards. My FAFSA was a complete joke bc it went off my parents income who, in their eyes, were in a pretty ok financial situation. The reality was, and still is, that my parents in a bankruptcy case and can't cosign student loans or contribute any money to my tuition. Without student loans and minimal support from FAFSA I just couldn't go. I've spent the last year working in a law firm as an office assistant and have fallen in love with the field and want to study pre law at a university and then later go to law school. I probably won't get much from scholarships bc my grades during my senior year are pretty bad. I won't get into the specifics of it but I suffered an intense amount of discrimination and persecution from my community and especially my classmates and bc of that, my grades suffered. I'm not sure if there is anything that can be done other than waiting until I'm 24 to file my FAFSA as an independent but I really don't want to wait that long. Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated.
