Advice for around Pagosa Springs

I'm currently on my way from Houston to Pagosa Springs to finally embark on my first fly fishing trip. I am extremely nervous and trying to suppress my expectations.

However, I didn't make this post just to tell y'all what I'm up to. I was wondering if anyone out of you 18,000 can give me any advice on spots in and around Pagosa. I am planning on having to hike to different spots most likely later in the week.

Any information on spots, flies, or anything to help out a novice would be helpful. Thanks and tight lines!

(I am aware the snow melt will have the river most likely running high, and this isn't exactly prime time.)
