Best insurance plans for UC?

My husband has moderate to severe ulcerative colitis and stopped responding well to mesalamine about a year ago. His doctor recommended he move on to biologics, so he started Remicade. He's had three doses since April plus heavy rounds of prednisone.

Anyway - our insurance company, Care First, has been a nightmare. They denied his doctor's request to put him on Entyvio until he tries Remicade (which we expected, but it was still disappointing). Now, his doctor wants him to get a fourth Remicade infusion quicker than the 8-week schedule because his inflammation markers are not falling. CareFirst denied that too.

It blows my mind that insurance companies can straight up deny a doctor's plan of care, so it's time for us to look around for a new plan. Anyone have any luck with other insurers being more flexible/covering more drugs?
