Recent diagnosis, but no insulin resistance?

Hi all. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS via ultrasound and testosterone levels, however, up until recently I have had a history of regular periods and I am not diabetic / not insulin resistant. My gyno put me on medroxyprogesterone to jumpstart my period, and I have an appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist for Wednesday. I know weight loss will be a significant part of getting back to regular periods, but my gyno said she wasn't sure the RE would put me on metformin due to my normal blood glucose levels. Anyone else in a similar position? Most of the PCOS resources I am finding are centered around insulin resistance. What did you do?
