I've seen some posts linking my op.gg and some discussion about my build. I want to give my own thoughts on the build and maybe answer some questions if anyone has them for me. First, the build.

Dorans -> GLP -> cdr boots -> banshees -> deathcap -> void

I go glp because it gives a huge powerspike with its active and helps Veigar play even better as a control mage. The early catalyst gives defensive stats and a bit of sustain to help you start scaling. It does lack damage but I'm not picking veigar for early game pressure. (It's definitely possible to start playing aggro with q once you have morello components but that is not the playstyle I opt for). My previous build involved a spectres cowl which gave hp and mr but the changes to banshees meant no more early game hp. To make up for this I went catalyst. Building a morellos after catalyst would be mana excessive so i opted for the new banshees, which gives MR and CDR. With two items, GLP and banshees, I have hp, mana, mr and cdr. Cdr boots and 10% scaling in runes gives 20% while blue gives you the last 10% to reach 45%. The build does rely on having a competent jungler which is exactly what I have in the flex situations that I use it in. I'm essentially a late game insurance control mage when i pick veigar.
