G&G TR16 Right Side selector notch not turning fully

I just got this gun in the mail today, brand new in the box. I'm planning on converting it to a C8A3 carbine and as a result I plan on installing a right side fire selector. Part of the reason why I bought this gun in particular is because the fire selector notch is actually geared to the normal fire selector on the left side.

However I'm noticing that it isn't turning uniformly with the notch on the left side. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this or knows if this might cause a problem when I install the right side selector?
