Information Compromised

I have been getting targeted phishing/malware targeting emails about some subjects. I canceled my paypal, then a few days later I get an email with a "pdf" that says its from paypal. Today, I got an email about "missing money" after looking at the usa.gov site.

Did I manage to pick up some sort of snooper somewhere, or should I not even worry about these emails?
