Should I go for the CFA?
I just graduated college w/ a math and finance background and was planning to take the CFA level 1 in December because I want to get into equity research (even though I know it's a dying field; it's more because it's a personal interest of mine). However, I feel more interested in a trading position but feel hesitant because I feel like trading jobs are frowned upon in finance (I value job status a lot). Should I even go for the CFA if I am a little more interested in getting a trading role rather than an ER role? I'm not too familiar with the different types of traders but I want to trade equity derivatives more based on swing trading. Advice? I'm a lot more familiar with the ER route so would appreciate some insight on the trading route (specifically if I want to swing trade options) and how I would go about doing so? Confused on which direction I want to take pls help asking for a friend
tl;dr want to get into ER but also interested in trading route. Should I even go for the CFA if I want to swing trade equity derivatives?
