Whats the fastest way to get refund when returning phones?

Someone I know bought the new kyocera phone but bc its too slow for him, he wants to return it. Idk how he got it, but he got it last wk from tmobile.

If he does return it, whats the fastest way to get refund? can he get his taxes back + EIP wiped asap?
