Horizon Zero Dawn - I tried to like this game....

As the title suggests I've tried to like horizon but I genuinely think it's very average. I don't know if it's just that I'm burned out on huge open world games with an obscene amount of mundane tasks spread about the map or if it's the fact I jumped into horizon off of the back of Zelda BotW.

Just to be clear in a Sony fan boy at heart and usually buy their exclusives day one and horizon was no exception but I just didn't enjoy it. I played for around 6-7 hours before giving up. The reason I started this thread today is because I figured I must be wrong about this game and tried to jump back in this week. Nope. Still the same.

I don't think it stands out in any department except for visuals which are not enough to keep me playing. I think the combat is really poor, the stealth mechanics are terrible and the story / voice acting is boring. I am sick to death of games trying to implement their own version of detective mode and I felt within the first two hours I had pretty much got the idea on how this game is going to continue playing.

Maybe I caught it at a bad time as I also dismissed watch dogs 2 for similar reasons. But I was just wondering if anyone else out there feels the way I do?
