Aren't they deaf from all that racing?

So I noticed that everybody is standing really close to the cars when they line up and do burnouts, some people try to cover their ears but most of them don't. So I was wondering, don't they get deaf from doing this stuff week in and week out without some kind of protection around their ears? Just curious about this :)
