[Or] 72hr notice filed against roommate for failure to pay rent but I didn't file for eviction right away

The notice was given to them a month ago. They owe many months back rent but I wanted to give them a chance to square up and get their life together. They have not. Do I have to give them another 72 hour notice before I can start the eviction process or am I covered by the first notice?

I can find nothing in the law that says you have to file right away after giving them the first notice except one website but they give nothing legal to back up their claim. I do not expect this person to show up in court to fight this but you never know.

I'd like to go to the court house right away and file for eviction but I will give them another 72 hr notice if need be.
