[Discussion] Talked to the doctor today, he seems to approve.

I've been 80-90% Paleo for the last week (can't seem to avoid veggie oil, and I'm going through a breakup so my alcohol/coffee intake isn't going anywhere for now), and the contrast to how I used to live is staggering.

I thought that it might be prudent to get tested for celiac's, as I was looking up the symptoms and they almost perfectly matched my daily life "back then."

I went in for my annual wellness exam and asked my doctor about getting tested, but he said there's no reason to test for celiac's because:

  1. I'm already on a gluten-free diet,

  2. it'd be four weeks back on gluten/regular foods before I could get the (expensive) test, and

  3. I'd just be going back to paleo/gluten-free afterwards anyways.

So my doctor approves of me going Paleo and says I should stick with it, given the benefits I've experienced. A bit shocking, I was expecting a talk about "fad diets" and whatnot, but yeah, looks like I'm down for getting more into it.

Has anyone actually had to fight their doctors about Paleo?
