Best way (least hassle) to rsync a system to multiple machines with different hardware configs

The "I.T. Guy"^1 at the charity I volunteer with asked me if I'd be able to deploy a ubuntu box to the rest of our recently donated collection of very mismatched hardware. The only thing the machines share in common (hardware wise) is they're intel x64.

It's a no brainer that I'll have to reconfigure the audio drivers, update the graphics drivers and set up network stuff e.g. hosts - but what else should I look for? I'm giving it a shot next time I'm in the office on Tuesday and dreading the thought of dealing with any grub issues - so any recommendations for best way of approaching this?
