I beat depression, now I'm happy

I'm a 18 year old girl with mild Down Syndrome. I act and think just like everyone else, but my appearance has always prevented me from living my life to the fullest. I've been mocked and bullied by merciless people, but there are also good people out there who don't care what I look like, and knowing that makes me feel better. I have a wonderful family and friends who love me. I'll never be considered completely normal by society but I don't care, I chose to be happy and stop caring and it works, even though I won't deny that I'd rather live without Down Syndrome, obviously but I'm just focusing on what I like doing and the people who love me.

I still '' regret '' being born with Down Syndrome every time I look in the mirror, I'm not saying this because I'm deluded or anything, but you can clearly tell that I would've been a really pretty girl without Down Syndrome, I have a beautiful face, but it's flat because of my condition. My life would've been entirely different without my condition and it hurts to know I would've been really pretty, but I need to accept it.
