How important is the view outside for you?

I come from a suburban, slightly hilly region, so I am used to seeing very far outside my window. I noticed that whenever I am in a city between large buildings I feel a bit trapped. Even in my city apartment where I now live, I can see trees in the park, the high buildings on the other side of the park (100 meters away) seem to destroy the scenery. Do others feel the same way?

Whenever someone posts a nice photo of a living space I look at the windows. I like the places best that have a good view - no matter whether that is a garden or just a wide, clear area. Do you feel the same way? I noticed that it only gets mentioned very rarely.

What do you people think about the view outside your living space? How important is it to you? Are there any tricks to changing something inside to distract from the outside?
