Do you type/write down your mnemonic scenes when studying?

I just started practicing and I'm finding myself typing in in Evernote whatever scene I come up while studying very detailed medical information for my practice, as mnemonic database for future references.

I noticed it has been eating up my time as I keep adjusting the scene and maybe bending it to accommodate more information I come across, so it ends up being a really long note, but I manage to remember it.

My question is, am I doing it right? Am I wasting my time while there are other practical ways of not having to typing it down?
