Would mixing Water and lye in a mason jar break the mason jar when extracting DMT

Would mixing Water and lye in a mason jar break the mason jar?

Sorry i should probably give some context. When extracting DMT you mix water and lye together before adding the MHRB; the mixture is very volatile and hot. So, would mixing Water and lye in a mason jar break the mason jar?
