Why do people forfeit at the end of R1 in Casual, when they can win the round?

Several times today, the same thing happened. We are playing a lengthy Round 1. I passed at an opportunate moment, creating a situation where the opponent either had to give me the Round or win at -2 CA. Instead of doing either, they simply forfeit.

Do people not care about the dailies? Do they play so much it doesn't matter for them? I realize they might have viewed the match as unwinnable, but the they could definitely take the round, perhaps at the expense of playing all their cards. They could at least get that one daily round win and forfeit afterwards (also enabling potential GG).

And this is at the beginning of the day, so everyone needs them rounds for dailies.
