Fixing automated construction
I saw this post and I thought I'll share couple fixes I made for myself as I was playing Ming and it is pain to manually build stuff in empire that big:
Go into events\Test_Events.txt and around lines 2746-2749 there are:
clr_country_flag = pass_road
clr_country_flag = pass_fort
clr_country_flag = pass_harbour
clr_country_flag = pass_capital
Add # in front of those lines or delete them. This will fix the menu not remembering your build/don't build settings.
In the same file search for 'add_permanent_province_modifier' and 'add_province_modifier'. There should be these (they are not grouped):
add_province_modifier = {
name = road_built_recently
duration = -1
hidden = yes
}
add_permanent_province_modifier = {
name = built_fort
duration = -1
hidden = yes
}
add_permanent_province_modifier = {
name = built_harbour
duration = -1
hidden = yes
}
Change them to:
add_permanent_province_modifier = {
name = road_built_recently
duration = 600
hidden = yes
}
add_permanent_province_modifier = {
name = built_fort
duration = 600
hidden = yes
}
add_permanent_province_modifier = {
name = built_harbour
duration = 600
hidden = yes
}
This will make a purple AI built road icon show up on trade map which will indicate where a road was auto built (it already does it for harbours and forts with blue icons). And it also makes the icons time out, at the moment you will see trade map eventually fill up with "AI government built fort" icons since AI uses this decision to build, but they never clear. To clear the stuck icons manually type 'event POP_test_events.006' in the console.
Also - it seems automated construction builds things instantly instead of having the 5 year delay when building via province interaction button.
