My max offer was matched exactly in the last seconds of the bidding. Coincidence?

So the item was at about 330 USD. So I about 15 sec before the end, I offer 420. Before the end someone bid 350 and then someone placed 420. So I just barely won since I placed it first, which I'm very happy about. I guess it's not the wildest coincidence, just wondered if that's common. I assume it's not possible to cheat the system.

It was a Chromebook Pixel 2015 LS with defective keyboard, that I will use to repair mine that has a defective SSD (soldered).
