Mycology beginner here: I'm looking for books on European mushrooms, specifically in Britain, France and Germany. More info in comments.

research

I'm looking for a fairly comprehensive encyclopaedia (or similar) of European mushrooms that includes photos, their natural growing conditions, and whether they are edible/toxic.

I'm actually a writer from Australia, and the closest thing to mycology I've ever gotten was eating puffball mushrooms from the lawn as a kid (my mother was always worried I'd eat a deathcap, but Dad made sure I knew the difference). I'm writing a character at the moment who's travelling across ancient Britain and Europe and I need her to be able to forage as she goes.

I am happy to read more local guides (specific to a particular forest etc), but the more comprehensive the better. Thank you in advance!
