What's the best event for auto enthusiasts?

Okay Redditors! What is the best car related event in North America? I've seen so many different opinions and yet nobody has made a yelp-like system to actually rate car shows, meets, races, and events. Just recently I was told "Gridlife is the best!" But it seems to be all just a bunch of slammed and abused ricers with rich kid douches running around. Is that accurate? Are there better shows out there? Because it seems like most events either fall into the "old guys with old cars" or "rich kids with too much money and no sense". Is there events that would satisfy the automotive purist in me?
