This sub doesn't seem to help a lot of people. Add your personal tips that seem to help you.

I have chronic idiopathic urticaria (there are many other types like cold urticaria, dermatographism , solar urticaria etc.) For me things that work: Levocetrizine 5mg once at night. When it doesn't work I take levocetrizine+montelukast combination once in morning and levocetrizine once in night. Have been on this regimen past two years.

Apart from taking Medicine other stuff that helped me:

Applying olive oil at night on my face (sadly 95% of the times I get the lesions on my face) before sleeping. It reduces the itching and chances of new lesions appearing on my face.

This one you might already know: Apply ice to reduce associated itching (works on most of the people).

Other alternatives: calamine lotion.

If you find it is messing up with your social life, you gotta plan. Make a diary, note down the different thing you did when the flare ups happened (surroundings , timing, food consumed ), and note down when the itching is less compared to other days and the factors that might be associated.

In short, this disease affects in a different way to different people. For some cutting off meat and juicing helped for others just exercise helped. Don't give up. Don't fall for expensive illogical treatments out there.

Observe the pattern.
