Choti ghari vs Bhari ghari?

Hello, I've been living in pak for around 8 years and there's one thing I can't seem to understand and that is why people hate " choti gharis " I mean they're cars too and best for interior cities like hyderabad, sukkur etc. I bought swift 2k17 model 0 metre and got bashed for wasting my money FROM EVERYONE (friends,relatives etc), saying I couldve used that money to buy a corolla/city. Is swift not appreciated in pak or what? And what's up with this stereotype?
