Is there a serial killer you believe would no longer be a danger to society if released?
Historical or currently living examples are welcome.
Knowing the unique characteristics of a serial killer, I'm interested to hear opinions on two basic queries: Can a serial killer truly be reformed (therapy, meds, etc)? And if a killer has a "plan" (ie The Chessboard Killer), do you believe they could stop themselves if they finished?
Archie McCafferty is one of the few examples I've come across. He was convicted of four murders, and served almost 25 years. Since then, he seems to be living quietly in Scotland. However, the question of "reformed" versus "aged out" is wholly debatable.
