40K player considering AoS

Hi, I'm staying away from 40K while 8th edition finds it feet. GW just dropped a new Starter set for AOS priced at £50 (£37.50 at 3rd party).

It seems to have a lot of kit. Is it worthwhile? Are the included minis a good core if I wanted to take it further?

Thanks in advance

*edit consensus seems to be jump on it. So I did. Pre-ordered.
