Why I will not be watching Le Mans this year (venting/rant)

Not due to Audi dropping out or anything to do with the race/organizers. Instead, I'm royally screwed over by my ISP, Ziggo (owned by Liberty Media, but probably unrelated :P)

Also: sorry to the mods if this kind of thread is not allowed especially now on raceday, I just need to vent this frustration.

Okay, so, story time.

Yesterday around ~1300h both my internet and cable TV went down. I went to my ISPs website to see if there was any maintenance. I saw that between the 13th and 14th there had been maintenance in my street, and some people had complained about their signal. They stated that the problems with their signal should've been fixed as of 13:00h.

So, apparently, someone went in and did something in the local area cable box to fix these people's signal.

What I can assume happened is that he/she accidentally unplugged my home connection and forgot to replug it.

I immediately called Ziggo, and they told me to wait and the problem would fix itself. Around 19.00h an update appeared on their page, saying that now it had all finally been fixed. But it hadn't for me.

I called again. Yes sir, it will fix itself. If not, call again tomorrow.

So ofcourse, today, I called again as a plug won't plug itself back in. Finally I had someone with a little empathy on the phone. She registered a mechanic to come and fix it for me at the next possible date.

Which is next tuesday.

So, no Le Mans for me. On top of that, my tablet/laptop broke about a week ago, so the only option for me is to go the university library and use a PC there, which is where I'm typing from now.

I don't need pity or anything, I just wanted to write this out to people who can relate to this, as my girlfriend did not understand that missing this race was what ticked me off :')

I don't blame her though, sometimes our love for racing can be a bit strange to outsiders. Especially when it involves a 24 hour long race.
