Discussing Kizana and Potential Changes!
This is in reference to the latest video, where Dev explained how characters constantly change during development - and he was thinking of changing the Kokana/Kizana hair task. It being that Kokana respects Kizana and attempts to copy her, which leaves Kizana (lover of creativity) disappointed.
I do like the idea that changes are being made, but I am a bit mixed on this idea (though, he may have just been giving an example, and with everything, it is not set in stone)
All rivals seem to be redeemable in some sense - which then emphaises the fact that Ayano is a monster.
Therefore, changing Kizana so that she is not petty/desperate to a creative person is important for the storyline. I also think this would give her a reason to like Senpai. Who knows, maybe he read Shakespere, saw Kizana in the play and complimented her at some point afterwards - with her liking him as he 'appreciates art'
Also, actually being talented explains how she could even be the drama-club leader. If she has multiple hairstyles, her being creative supports it. Moreover, in terms of befriending her, the player can see Kizana dedicated to her art, which makes her seem much more grounded and someone who is willing to work for her dream of being an actress. This is an improvement from the earlier model of her being a diva and having superficial dreams of being an actress.
That said, I think Kizana stood out to so many people because she was bratty, so I think many of these qualities need to remain. She can be talented, but I also like the idea of her being insecure, and a stickler for details - probably making the drama club rehearse several times. And though she has talent, I think she would still be willing to backstab others (subtley) and keep her position as a leading actress - maybe for the sake of her resume or something.
So, I would say that some sort of compromise is best. That said, Dev, I really like how these rivals are growing and adapting - and Kizana has gone a really long way since that rival introduction video, to the point where I am really excited to see her!
