[QUESTION] Good and bad rhythm examples

Hey, so i started playing guitar about 6 months ago and just joined my first band as a rhythm guitarist. I'm really enjoying it so far and i feel i'm at a point where i understand rhythm and syncopation well theoretically, but I'm still not sure if i have 'the pocket' or when the rhythm is 'tight'. What does that even mean?

Can you guys think of any examples of bands with really good rhythm (i heard James Brown's band was great) and why that is, and then some bands where the rhythm is not so good and why?
