Third-person processing

I post here occasionally as a sounding board for revelations or curiosities involving my exile/sojourn/experience into DPDR. I appreciate the patience I've received in that regard.

Today, I've got a question not only for myself, but to see if this is a common thing amongst other unafflicted human beings.

Does anyone else here think almost exclusively in the third person? Do your thoughts and memories replay/display in a view outside of your body, or even slightly behind yourself?

I noticed this about two days ago and wonder if it might be the cause or the glaring property of my depersonalization. While I recognize myself in a mirror, my own name is only something I respond to because of habit and reflex.

I don't know how I originally came to this conclusion, but I noticed it in full effect as I observed how I go about my life on autopilot, always lost in thought. Well, those thoughts were almost entirely third person thoughts when they involved myself in any way. As in, I don't remember or imagine anything through my own eyes, always the outside observer.

Anyone have experience with this? Has the realization of it helped or hindered?

Please, if there's anything here, discuss.

Thanks.
