PS4 Multiplayer is unplayable?

Having some real issues in multiplayer. Matchmaking and joining the game is fine, but once I'm in it's really choppy and laggy to the point of being unplayable until I get booted from the server. I've tested my network connection and it seems fine, so I'm not sure what's causing the trouble. Does anybody have any advice? Much appreciated.
